Hephaestus had a lot of feelings for Athena, logically since he was the one to free her out of the head of Zeus. He tried quite often to sleep with her, but Athena didn't reply his love.

One day he couldn't stand anymore and one sperm felt on the thigh of Athena. Totally nauseated she wiped it away and threw the sperm down to the earth. Out of the sperm raised a strange creature, the Erichthonios. It was a half human, half snake and later on it became a great inventor. Probably because he couldn't walk it is said that he was the inventor of the wheel.
